Old Friends # 2
Now still close friends, and so forever
Although many lives change
Still calling buddy as we always prefer
Some are mandarins in the province
Not rich but not too poor so far
Enjoy Japanese cars, main street houses
Also drink champagnes, smoke cigars
Some become deep sea sailors
Familiar with the smell of salt water,
Turmoil waves of ocean do not flinch
Despite the dangers keep smiling
Some are clever turn into businessmen
(Surely they are not the crook!)
Invest, market according to the times
Role models of the town entrepreneurs
Some are work as farmers
Live pleasurely in the countryside
The husbands plow their wives grow
Happy from they’re young to old
One is a famous professor
Strict, poise but always humble
Students love, colleagues admire
No need to pray for a bit of bad reputation
Only I who is still fluffy
Rocks did not become metallic after reform
Hard life turns black hair into silvery
Abroad emty hands forever longing home!
